THE LAST SONGWRITER
Jamie's story is featured throughout THE LAST SONGWRITER, a documentary that chronicles the dire challenges songwriters face in the current age of music streaming. The film spotlights Grammy award-winning artists and Hall Of Fame songwriters including Garth Brooks, Jason Isbell, Emmylou Harris, Marcus Hummon, Allen Shamblin, and Tom Douglas. Featuring some of the most influential songs of the past 25 years, THE LAST SONGWRITER asks…
“Who will write the soundtrack of our lives as songwriters are leaving the profession after earning a fraction of a penny for streams on services such as Pandora or Spotify.”
A success of the documentary, The Music Modernization Act was recently passed in Oct 2018 and is being called the most important songwriter legislation ever adopted by Congress.
REAL COUNTRY - USA NETWORK
Premiering Fall 2018, Jamie is a contestant on USA Network’s “Real Country” - The Search for America’s Next Country Superstars.
REAL COUNTRY is a new country music showcase series featuring multi-platinum, five-time GRAMMY Award®-winning trailblazer Shania Twain, ACM Award-winning and platinum-selling singer-songwriter Jake Owen and multi-platinum, GRAMMY Award®-winning country music legend Travis Tritt.
In each hour-long episode, Twain, Owen and Tritt hand-select emerging solo artists, duos and groups to perform in showcases that spotlight the rich traditions, songs and themes of specific country genres. The best artists from each showcase will perform in a grand finale, for the chance to be named one of country music’s next breakout acts.
THE LAST MOVIE STAR
Jamie and John Martin co-wrote and recorded all 12 original songs that serve as the official soundtrack of THE LAST MOVIE STAR (2018), starring Burt Reynolds, Chevy Chase and Ariel Winter. Floyd & Martin also appear in a scene with the Bandit early on in the movie, where they perform “Stuck.” In the film, an aging, former Hollywood star (played by Reynolds), is forced to face the reality that his glory days are behind him. On its surface, the film is a tale about faded fame, but at its core, it's a universal story about growing old.
Reynolds passed away unexpectedly in September 2018, leaving behind this film as his final performance. Jamie had the opportunity to get to know Burt while they toured and interviewed at film festivals and auditoriums across the country in promotion of their movie. The two also bonded over the fact that they share the same hometown and both went to the same high school in South Florida.
